We are working in our Primary Care Network (PCN) to deliver the Covid Vaccinations to our patients. Our PCN consists of five practices which includes Abington Park Surgery
We will be contacting ALL patients’ eligible following the guidance given to us by NHS England. We will contact you as soon as we can offer you an appointment.
Please be aware we can only offer clinics as and when we receive delivery of the vaccine, this is not a quick process and will take many months to vaccinate but we will work hard to ensure we can deliver the vaccine as quickly as possible.
Information regarding our vaccination clinics and how you can help them run smoothly:
- To help prevent a queue, Please keep to the time of your appointment
- We can only offer you a vaccination if you have an appointment
- There is ample parking available with an overspill carpark next to the site
- Be prepared to wait a short time outside so please dress appropriately
- Marshalls and practice staff are on hand in the carparks and in the building to guide you throughout the vaccination process
- Wheelchairs are available to use
- If you need assistance and cannot come alone, you may have one person help and accompany you
- Please wear clothing that enables easy access to your arm.
- Always wear a mask and keep a 2m distance
- Be aware you may need to wait for 15 minutes after your vaccination.
- DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS
The CCG Home Visiting Service will be vaccinating all our patients that are housebound, we will call our housebound patients to notify them when this will be once we are notified.
Vaccinations are being carried out in priority order as agreed by the NHS England. These are:
- Older adults’ resident in a care home and care home workers
- All those 80 years of age and over and health and social care workers
- All those 75 years of age and over
- All those 70 years of age and over
- All those 65 years of age and over
- High-risk adults under 65 years of age
- Moderate-risk adults under 65 years of age
- All those 60 years of age and over
- All those 55 years of age and over
- All those 50 years of age and over
- The rest of the population (priority to be determined)

ChatHealth is a free text messaging service for 11-19 year-olds. Young people can text a school nurse for confidential advice and support about any health related issue.
The number is 07507 329600 (open Mon-Fri 9am-4pm). Young people can use ChatHealth whether they are in school or have left.

Requesting Medical Records – Important Notice
Please note that if you are requesting a copy of your medical records and have given consent to a third party, i.e. a Solicitor or insurance Company to handle this request on your behalf, once the notes are prepared we will contact you directly to collect them from reception.
You will be asked to show photo identification before we will hand over the records.
PLEASE NOTE – we will not send any medical records to a third party via post. They will only be released to the individual patient.

APS PPG Autumn 2019 Newsletter
Activity on Referral is a countrywide fitness scheme which is available to join through your GP, Practice Nurse or Health Visitor. The scheme is based around a reduced rate leisure membership and combined 12 week programme of physical activity.
Who is Eligible?
Activity on Referral is available to people over 16 years of age who are currently inactive. Patients can be referred for a range of reasons including; being overweight/obese, issues with smoking, those suffering from depression, anxiety, mild bone and joint problems, patients with Parkinson, MS, diabetes, asthma, hypertension and back pain.

The NHS offers an Electronic Prescription Service to help make collecting your prescription easier. Your GP can send it electronically to your local pharmacy for you to pick up. Please call in to find out more, pick up a leaflet and/or nominate your chosen pharmacy. |

With SystmOnline, you can book and cancel appointments, view your appointment history, order your repeat medication, update your contact details and now view you summary clinical record and detailed coded record. Before using the service, you must be registered. In most cases, you will need to do this in person at the surgery and you will need proof of ID for security purposes.
